Used to connect dissimilar devices except PC-router

Cross-over

Used to connect similar devices + PC-router (on the ethernet port)

Examples : PC-PC, hub-hub, switch-switch, router-router

Rollover (= console)

Used to connect PC-router (on the console port)

RJ45 (Registered Jack) --> twisted pair

BNC (British Naval Connector) & T-connector (Tee connector) --> coaxial
