  • is an optional SGA memory used to relieve the burden on the Shared Pool
  • used for session memory (UGA) for the shared server, I/O server processes, backup and restore operations with RMAN, parallel execution message buffers
  • sized by LARGE_POOL_SIZE initialization parameter
  ALTER SYSTEM SET  
  LARGE_POOL_SIZE = 24M;  		    dynamically resizes the Large Pool (default 0M)
